White Fillings

We very rarely put metal fillings in our patients’ mouths. Metal is not only unattractive, it can also compromise the strength of your teeth. Metal fillings fluctuate with temperature changes in your mouth, expanding and contracting, causing teeth to chip or crack. This breakdown of tooth structure can lead to root canal therapy. The movement of the filling allows bacteria to form underneath, causing decay in the very tooth it was meant to protect. Here at Family Dental Innovations we recommend using natural looking composite fillings, or, for more extensive repair, pure porcelain inlays, onlays, and crowns.
